YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN A POST-COVID 19 WORLD

From the above picture, it is apt to surmise that COVID-19 disrupted systems and structures, opened a multiverse of challenges alien to many because of its attack on human gregarity. The disruption is felt in diverse vistas; From Businesses to Governmental entities, non-profit enclaves, Church Services & entrepreneurial strivings.

This intellectual piece does not seek to banter about the effect of Corona-virus on the praxis of our humanity or daily routine, but to share intelligent and radically progressive ideas that will help executives of RCCG region 30 and Excos of the Region's Confederating Provinces to seamlessly navigate through the POST-COVID Phase.

1. MOP UP
After every storm, there are always litters on the street or house roofs blown out of shape, power factories destroyed by torrents of strong winds; hence the need to mop up. The Youth Leadership will need to work aggressively to re-connect to youths whom they have been disconnected from due to social distancing, in reconnecting; they MUST do this INTENTIONALLY, STRATEGICALLY & ALTRUISTICALLY. These Youths with proclivities of adaptability must have evolved newer attitudes, developed a deep passion for isolation-al worships, or have grown a subtle fancy for virtual church worship systems, hence resistance to the old "Norma" of gathering together in a place for worship.

The Mopping Up Approach works against Isolationism. It works against bad habits of not going to church on a routine basis, one picked up during the lockdown phase. It works against it.

2. STRATEGIC RE-ENGAGEMENT
Contact Tracing & Contact, Contacting: The Youth Leadership must trace all its contact in her database; contact them via home-home evangelism & follow-Up across all provinces. Remember, the tendency to have lost members to other denominations due to rusty COVID-19 Pandemic handling is quite high, but with careful delivery of care and empathy NOW, We can still salvage the situation.

3. POTENT DESIGN-RE: THINKING
We must redesign our 2020/2021 calendars to focus on helping Young people's businesses grow, sharing life-changing opportunities within career, personal development, education, and employability. We must refocus our attention conventions of empty talks to conferences of massive transfer of profitable knowledge. We must redesign our calendar to factor in entrepreneurial development and skill acquisition on a large scale. Ensuring that all Youths and young adults under our jurisdiction learn a soft-skill, start a side hustle and sign up for mentorship/apprenticeship programs. We must begin to teach our youths business and financial intelligence, and how to leverage online opportunities.

4. RESTRUCTURED LEADERSHIP APPROACH

We need to build agility, engage our youths from a human-centered dimension. We must adopt a digital approach to youth engagement. We must devise a means to cut the asymmetric created by COVID-19, help our youths to adapt, train them to have adversity quotient, and prepare them for what comes next.
